Verbena (Verbena bonariensis)
Verbena (Verbena bonariensis), is a perennial, fast-growing plant that forms clumps. It has serrated, lance-shaped, dark green leaves, from which rise erect, thin, branched stems with few leaves.
It has small pink to purple flowers that are very attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies and other pollinators. The name of the genus comes from a Latin name used in several plants widely used in ceremonies and traditional medicine.
Verbena has powerful analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, and can also be used as a natural deodorant. It has relaxing qualities, it is usually used to combat anxiety and insomnia. It also has sedative effects and strengthens the nervous system.
